Both were manuals. For me...gotta be Miata. Looks better and simplify and add lightness.

Definitely the Miata.
At one point I had a '99 Miata (with sport package which includes Torsen LSD, Bilstein shocks, stiffer springs & swaybars) and my dad had an '01 TT Roadster 185 hp fwd.
The TT was fun enough up to about 7/10ths but handling was for the most part no contest at all, in favor of the Miata.

My only experience in either car was riding in a miata when I was about 8 years old. It was pretty fun though.
